July 1909

Birth of a Visionary

A son was born into the Akindayomi family of Ondo State, Nigeria. Surrounded by idol worshippers, he yearned to know "The God who created the earth and everything on it."

1927

The Spiritual Journey Begins

He was baptized at the Church Missionary Society, beginning his formal Christian journey, yet remained spiritually unfulfilled.

1931

Joining Cherubim and Seraphim

He joined the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, seeking deeper spiritual fulfillment. Here he began to hear a voice saying, "You will be my servant."

1931-1938

Seven Years of Resistance

For seven years, he ignored the divine call. All his business ventures failed, leaving him in debt and without peace, until he finally yielded to God's will.

1941

Marriage and Continuation

He got married and continued worshipping with the Cherubim and Seraphim Church while carrying his divine calling.

1947

Growing Concerns

He began to notice that the church was departing from the true Word of God in some of its practices, sparking a divine discontent.

1952

The Great Departure

Fully persuaded by God, he left the Cherubim and Seraphim Church and started the "Glory of God Fellowship" at Willoughby Street, Ebute-Metta, Lagos with nine members.

1973

Divine Revelation of the Name

Pa Akindayomi, who could not read or write, supernaturally saw and wrote the words "The Redeemed Christian Church of God." God revealed that this church would go to the ends of the earth.

1975

Choosing of the next G.O

Papa was able to recognize him in the Spirit as the one that the Lord had spoken about in the past, This man, Enoch Adejare Adeboye who was then a lecturer of Mathematics ata the University of Lagos soon became involved in the church. He became one of teh interpreters translating Pa Akindayomi's sermons from Yoruba to English. He was ordained a pastor of the church in 1975

1981

Leadership Transition

After Pa Josiah Akindayomi's death at 71, Pastor E.A. Adeboye's appointment was formalized. An explosive growth began with parishes multiplying rapidly across Nigeria.

Present Day

Global Impact

RCCG has over 40,000 parishes in Nigeria and presence in numerous countries worldwide including the US, UK, Canada, South Africa, Australia, and many more. The monthly Holy Ghost Service attracts hundreds of thousands globally.

The Early Fellowship

The fellowship at Willoughby Street, Ebute-Metta grew rapidly as news of miracles spread. What started with nine members quickly multiplied as God's power manifested in their midst.

Global Expansion

RCCG's international presence spans across Africa (Ghana, Zambia, Kenya, South Africa), Europe (UK, Germany, France), the Americas (USA, Canada, Caribbean), Asia (India, Philippines, Dubai), and Australia.

Holy Ghost Services

The monthly Holy Ghost Service, held at the Redemption Camp (Km. 46 Lagos-Ibadan Expressway), attracts an average of 500,000 attendees. These services now occur worldwide, bringing miracles and transformation to millions.

RESURRECTION HISTORY

RCCG Resurrection Chapel was founded on 4th of April, 2010 by RCCG Resurrection House Ologede Area Headquarter, New garage, under the then Area pastor [Pastor Elegbeleye]."

Resurrection Chapel Aba-Ibeji started from a sitting room apartment (2nd building) behind mummy Ogundele's house [Mummy Dolapo] known as Chief (Mrs) Olowa House.

The pioneer Pastor [pst Igbekoyi and His Family] were hand picked by Pastor Elegbeleye from a parish called RCCG at opera area where he worship as an ordinary member according to him, to come and pastor a sitting room church called RCCG Resurrection Chapel, Aba-Ibeji.

In the cost of commencement of RCCG Resurrection Chapel, Resurrection House donated 12 pieces (1 dozen) of plastic chairs with one public address system (P.A.S) to Resurrection Chapel Aba-Ibeji to start with, while Mummy Ogundele Volunteer her generator plant (Electrification) for every church activities, services and programs for smooth running.

In the journey of a room worship apartment as RCCG Resurrection Chapel Aba-Ibeji, the following are those whom God have used tremendously as Aarons lifting the hand Moses to the permanent site of the church today in Aba-Ibeji environs

1. Pastor Igbekoyi, Pastor (Mrs) Igekoyi, Joseph Igbekoyi, Mercy Igbekoyi, Precious Igbekoyi, and Heritage Igbekoyi whom was born in Resurrection Chapel Aba-Ibeji. 2. Mummy Ogundele and her family. 3. Chief (Mrs) Olowa and her family. 4. Mummy Olootu. 5. Deaconess Ameh and her family. 6. Deaconess shodeinde and her family. 7. Mummy Babalola and Babalola Rachael. 8. Mummy Enitan. 9. Mr and Mrs Okewole. 10. Mummy Betiku. 11. Mummy Sagay.
